An Analysis of Job Creation from Investment in the Alternative Protein Industry

This report models the potential job creation of new state investments to support the alternative protein industry in Massachusetts, through a mix of higher education research, manufacturing equipment grants, and early stage commercialization. If implemented, a $40 million investment would create over 16,000 full time-equivalent (FTE) job years in Massachusetts over 10 years, the majority of which would reside in the educational, food services, agriculture, and manufacturing sectors.
